"Homebuying Made Easy" Seminar featuring Damian Gilbert

The first "Homebuying Made Easy" seminar held on March 29, 2008 at the Homewood Library from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. was a major success. There were around 30 individuals in attendance and they were a very enthusiastic audience. The seminar was opened by John Clark, broker of J.E. Clark Realty, who gave a welcome and allowed the attendees to introduce themselves. Next, Damian Gilbert, branch manager of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage located in downtown Birmingham discussed getting qualified to purchase a home and the different loan programs that are available to potential buyers. He also answered questions concerning credit issues and refinancing adjustable rate mortgages.

 

Darlene Clark, sales manager of J.E. Clark Realty, and Olivio Clay, associate broker of J.E. Clark Realty, gave a general update of the housing market. This is currently a buyer's market with exponential opportunities available especially for individuals who do not have a home to sell. They also discussed the steps an individual needs to take before looking for a home.

 

Based upon the success of the seminar, we plan to conduct other seminars throughout the Birmingham metro area in the upcoming months.
